Kanneliya Rainforest which is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka near to the Galle is the second largest rainforest other than the Sinharaja Rainforest. This forest was designated as a biosphere reserve in 2004 by UNESCO. 

    Here you can see many native plants as well as animals. However, it is such a nice place where all of us must travel. If we travel to the inside of the forest, there we can find a natural cave, waterfall, and many other beautiful natural places. There are different types of leeches, plants and many things and you can obviously have that real adventuring feeling there.

   Anagimala Waterfall is located there, in Kanneliya. There is a story behind having this name for this waterfall. There was a girl named Anagi and she has been killed by her own brother there. This incident happened during the period of 18 century. In that time period, it is said that there were people around the waterfall. However, by an accident, this girl was pregnant by her own brother and then it is said that her own brother killed this Anagi because of that. However, this waterfall is really beautiful and you can feel how lucky we are.
